About Us

TLC Media is a woman-owned business based in Fort Worth, Texas, consisting of Terri L. Carey and Rick Carey. We are a pair of computer geeks that have been working and playing with computers since 1980 (back when 300 bps modems and BBSes were cutting edge technology). Combined , we have over 50 years of experience with computers and are dedicated to staying on top of the latest technological advances. Our extensive skill sets and network of associated subcontractors allow us to provide a wide range of services with minimal overhead, which means greater value for our clients.

Terri spent just over 17 years in a corporate environment which encouraged us to develop a wide range of computer, organizational, content development and administrative skills. When she was laid off in 2006, she chose to take those skills and develop her own business providing virtual administrative assistance and temporary and cyclical office administration staffing. When Rick was laid off six months later after 18 years of employment, he added web site design, web tool design, web programming and video and graphic design capabilities to TLC Media. Together, we can provide comprehensive on-site and virtual support for your business needs!

While we strive to provide all services in-house, we do occasionally call in a subcontractor (or subcontractors) in order to ensure the maximum attention and quality of your project. Any subcontracting is handled by TLC Media and all work provided is covered by our normal contract. This ensures that our clients receive the best value for their dollar.

We appreciate your interest in our services and look forward to helping you grow and manage your business!

Client services include virtual office services (VA), on-site short-term or temporary office staffing for secretarial and administration services, office organization, mail merge creation and processing, plotting metes and bounds, database design (such as for contact or project tracking), web content creation and updates, and proofreading and technical writing.

Terri has worked in admin and/or customer service since 1989. In addition, she has worked on three feature films with Highland Myst Entertainment as a script supervisor.

She helped organize her first position so that the team was able to dramatically decrease the turnaround time and the number of people required. She was then given the task to organize the department's reference library and did so to such degree that she was able to take on additional duties. She gained experience in general administration, office organization, customer service and information presentation, spending several years providing telephone and email customer service. During this time, she created and taught classes on a variety of consumer electronics product lines.

For four years, she was responsible for content development, page design and maintenance for RadioShack Product Support's subsite using Paint Shop, Freehand and Illustrator to create images, image maps and logos.

She has been writing and working with the written word for two decades, creating and editing formal and informal communications, movie scripts, training manuals, technology guides and sales copy. She has spent the past several years studying the Web and learning how best to use the Web to best present information and attract customer attention.
